Scope
Community health initiatives require welcoming, accessible environments that encourage vulnerable populations to seek testing while operating within budget constraints and heritage building limitations.
We created an attractive, approachable environment that helps men feel comfortable attending for testing within strict budget and heritage constraints. The retail shop transformation balanced clinical requirements with welcoming design, incorporating disabled access and all necessary functional areas.
Prototype rapid testing clinic within heritage-listed retail shop features waiting area, examination room, interview rooms, testing area, and staff facilities designed to create comfortable, non-stigmatizing healthcare environment. Though designed for limited-time operation, the clinic opened by the Minister of Health demonstrated innovative healthcare delivery through sensitive adaptive reuse of heritage commercial spaces.
