Scope
Large retirement communities on environmentally sensitive sites require careful design that preserves natural features while providing appropriate housing scale that respects surrounding residential neighborhoods.
We reduced building bulk through smaller, interconnected structures that maintain residential character attractive to target residents while preserving significant trees and riparian corridors. Traffic and parking challenges were resolved through strategic site planning that minimizes impact on surrounding single residences.
Mixed assisted aged care and retirement living development on heavily treed site with riparian corridor, designed as series of interconnected house-scale buildings minimizing tree removal and neighborhood impact. The design approach prioritizes environmental sensitivity and neighborhood integration while delivering comprehensive aged care facilities that feel residential rather than institutional.
